Berriew bowler Caroline Taylor was crowned Welsh singles champion for  the third time at the recent Welsh Women’s Bowling Association finals
in Llanelli.
Caroline beat the holder Wendy Price, of Llandrindod Wells, 21-15 to win the coveted title.
NEWPORT Mike Manning Audio Wasps last night celebrated turning the clock back 47 years by emulating their long-forgotten 1964 Knockout Cup final win over Cradley Heath.
This time, however, skipper Leigh Lanham’s men downed the colours of none other than the British Premier League champions-elect over two legs.
They travelled to Glasgow for Sunday’s second leg as red-hot favourites to lift their first piece of team silverware since their 1999 Premier Trophy win over, Edinburgh Monarchs, defending a massive 40-point lead engineered from Saturday's first-leg win at their Queensway Meadows Stadium home track.
WASPS' 12-YEAR TROPHY DROUGHT IS AT AN END!

'Bright future' for two Welsh youngsters
Welsh 18-year-olds Rhys Pugh and Amy Boulden have shown the future is bright by taking on the best American amateurs and remaining unbeaten over the last few weeks.
Following up Pugh's three wins out of three in the Walker Cup, Boulden notched two wins and a tie in the Junior Solheim Cup in Ireland this week as
Victorious Walker Cup captain Nigel Edwards is also the Golf Union of Wales director of player development and coaching, so in the perfect position to assess the success of the star duo.
“They have both had excellent seasons, doing well for Wales, Great Britain and Ireland and now Amy with Europe."
Europe ended level with the United States.
It shows the future of Welsh golf is looking up through this pair of rising stars who have come through the Golf Union of Wales development system, while their success can also inspire people to take up the game in Wales and put in the work necessary to reach the top.
